Sunday’s episode of TV One’s “UNSUNG” features R&B sensation Avant. Avant is best known for the success of his singles Separated, My First Love, and Read Your Mind. With the help of these hits, the singer turned his name into a powerhouse brand. Hailing from Cleveland Ohio, he helped impact the R&B scene in the late 90s and early 2000s. More recently, he's finishing up a new album on MO-B Entertainment being distributed through Capitol Music Group, while simultaneously preparing to hit the road and introduce followers to his new music.
Over the course of several years, the name Jordan Rock has been heard alot more. Not only has he acted in quite a few movies and television shows, he's also a comedian on the rise who just happens to belong to one of the funniest comedic families.. no not the Wayans. Jordan Rock has been groomed and mentored by his older brothers Tony Rock and Chris Rock so he's learned from some of the best in the field. Jordan not only brings something different to his comedic style he's also no slouch, so don't just assume he's where he is because of his siblings. The young man has been putting in work on the comedy circuit in New York for years, just check out a few of the older posts on his Facebook fanpage. I had the opportunity to not only photograph his set at the Improv in Cleveland but I also got to sit down with him prior to his set to ask a few questions. Singer, Songwriter MAJOR. has been into music his entire life but it wasn't until his hit single, Why I Love You started to garner major attention by not only going viral on Youtube (currently at over 30 million views), the song reached top 5 on the billboard charts, Stevie Wonder dubbed it the "wedding song of the year" and Patti LaBelle sang it on her national tour did MAJOR. really get that push into stardom. I got the opportunity to talk to him on a 1-on-1 phone interview during his Press Day before he hit Cleveland on November 2nd for The Rebel, The Soul & The Saint Tour co-headlined by Kirk Franklin and Ledisi.
Fremont, OH comedian Ishoos chatted with us as we discussed his comedic style "Common Sense Comedy" and how it separates him from the rest, the worst response he's ever received following a joke and how being homeless is what pushed him in the direction of comedy.

Cincinnati's own Juan Cosby is nothing short of a renaissance man. Not only is he currently the vocalist/producer for Counterfeit Money Machine and keyboardist/producer for BIG’UNS, he's also the General Manager of Grasshopper Juice Records who not only has a roster of independent acts but they also book national artists, coordinate local events in Cincinnati all while throwing the Adjust Your Eyes Music and Art Festival every year since 2006. SoMo is a very talented singer/songwriter from Texas who was first discovered on Youtube. He used the popular video sharing site as a platform to release not only original music but popular song covers of such artists as Ginuwine, Miley Cyrus, Boyz II Men, Chris Brown, Usher, Mario, Drake, etc. which garnered millions of views. He later signed with Republic Records and in the process has released 2 studio albums (the latest one entitled The Answers which dropped in March 2017) and several mixtapes. His hottest song to date is Ride which has gone 2x platinum and has just under 22 million views on Youtube. We had the pleasure of sitting down with this cutie and talking 1 on 1 about all things music, life and sensuality.
Hodgie has been invited to be a guest on Shade45 with Sway, his single Minding' My Business is currently in rotation on 106.7 The Beat and Power 107.5 and he's consistently had his music showcased in many blogs such as Okayplayer, Complex, 2DopeBoyz, Vibe, Nahright, DJBooth, etc.
We did a quick phone interview with Hodgie and talked about how he's grown as an artist, how he feels about mumble rap and of course .. Street Lights.

Cleveland's own Shuicide Holla is definitely the numbers man around these parts. Since his smash hit Hit Dem Folks went viral with over 1.65 million streams on SoundCloud, a youtube dance video with over 6.5 million views AND if you Google the man you will find video upon video of kids all over the world dancing to his hits, so it kinda makes you curious as to the man behind all of this.

Eric Roberson is a singer, songwriter, producer and a 2x Grammy nominee from New Jersey who has written and/or provided vocal production for Musiq Soulchild, Vivian Green, Will Smith, Cam'ron, Jill Scott, Charlie Wilson, Robert Glasper and many more. His last album entitled Tigallerro was a joint project with Phonte (formerly of Little Brother and presently The Foreign Exchange). He has recently announced the 2017 release of a trilogy EP entitled Earth (which will release April 21st) + Wind (July 2017) + Fire (October 2017) that will be dropping soon.
